Senior Associate

About Epicwayz Advisors

Epicwayz Advisors is a boutique, CPA led fractional CFO and advisory firm serving small and middle market companies, with CFO Advisory, bookkeeping and tax services as a core part of how we support clients. We do not believe in producing reports for the sake of producing reports. We believe in giving business owners clean, accurate numbers they can actually trust and use to make decisions.

Our founder brings close to twenty years of corporate finance experience across Big Four, consumer products, and private equity backed distribution companies, and built this firm to bring that same level of rigor directly to founders and owners who do not have a full finance department on staff.

We are growing quickly, and this role is designed for someone who wants to grow with us.

This is a boutique firm growing fast, which means your role will not stay fixed in one lane. Alongside bookkeeping and close work, you will also prepare and file tax returns during tax season. You should not need a fixed job description to feel comfortable, and should be ready to wear whatever hat the day requires as the firm grows.

What this is not

This is not a single company, back office bookkeeping role where you touch the same set of books every month with no other exposure. You will manage a portfolio of clients across different industries.

This is not a role where you sit quietly entering data. You will be expected to notice when something looks wrong and raise it before it becomes a client issue.

This is not a fully remote role. If you need to work from home five days a week with no in person collaboration, do not apply.

What you will do

Bookkeeping and month end close

  • Manage full cycle bookkeeping for multiple client accounts
  • Complete month end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements across all assigned clients

Quality review and process support

  • Review bookkeeping work prepared by junior staff or our extended delivery team
  • Identify and correct discrepancies before financial statements reach clients
  • Help standardize templates, checklists, and monthly close procedures across the client roster

Client support

  • Respond to client questions about their financial statements and monthly numbers
  • Support tax season handoff by making sure clean, accurate books are ready ahead of preparation
  • Build trust directly with client contacts through clear, timely communication

Budgeting, analysis, and client reporting

  • Support monthly CFO check ins for assigned clients alongside the lead advisor
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages for client review

Tax preparation

  • Prepare and file individual and business tax returns during tax season
  • Ensure books are clean and reconciled ahead of filing deadlines
  • Work directly with our offshore tax team on overflow returns during peak season

Process improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline recurring bookkeeping workflows
  • Support new clients as they transition onto the firm’s systems and chart of accounts

Why this opportunity stands out

This is not one employer’s books, repeated every month. You will see a range of industries and business models, which builds a breadth of experience a single company bookkeeping role cannot offer.

  • You will own your own portfolio of clients rather than being one of many people on a single account
  • You will work closely with a CPA who has sat inside Big Four, corporate, and private equity backed companies, and absorb that thinking directly
  • There is a clear path toward a senior accounting or controller function as the firm and your portfolio grow

Who you are

  • You likely have 2 to 5 years of public accounting experience; experience at a professional services or consulting firm is a strong plus
  • You are comfortable moving between detailed accounting/tax work and higher level budgeting or analysis conversations with clients
  • You have experience preparing individual or business tax returns, or are eager to build that skill
  • You are comfortable managing multiple sets of books at once
  • You have strong knowledge of month end close, reconciliations, and basic financial statement preparation
  • You are proficient in Drake/QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software
  • You are detail oriented, organized, and comfortable working with minimal oversight once trained

Growth path

This role is intentionally structured to grow with you. Over time, this position is meant to develop into a Director accounting or Controller function as the firm and its client base expand.
